Be Fit For Travel

Manginabuhi sâ ta.

One of the frustrations I have had is when I engage in strenuous lakbays most especially climbing up mountains and those trekking activities. I can not seem to be prepared physically to involve myself on those arduous undertakings. I get to be mentally prepared, yes, but physically, I doubt. My legs would give way after perhaps three hours of walking and going up steep climbs. Even after an hour of walking, I will be catching my breath already. I do not have the endurance or stamina to complete the trek without getting very exhausted or fatigued.

Some Tips to be Fit For Travel

Although I am not a health guru or a health buff, I have some few general suggestions for myself. Feel free to apply it to yourself too. Lol.

  1. Have a thorough exercise perhaps beginning 2 weeks prior from the trip.
  2. Go on a diet! That would be a definite recommendation. Perhaps you can try go on diet, that could shave off some pounds that could wear you down.
  3. With the diet of fiber rich food such as berries and green-leafy vegetables, you certainly will have a toned down body. My mouth waters upon the thought of caesar salad with all it’s crunchy lettuce and sweet tomatoes, coupled with fruits like oranges, apples, and strawberries.
  4. Do not eat three big meals as we Filipinos are wont to do. We eat breakfast, lunch, and then dinner. Try to eat a hearty breakfast, and then before lunch eat some sandwiches or anything that fills your stomach so that by lunch time you would not get hungry and gobble food as if you were starved. In the mid-afternoon you can eat another meal, and in the evening you can have a light supper. That would be five meals total in a day.

Did I miss out anything? Please feel free to give your additional inputs!
