Flaunting My OS’ Browser

Thanks to Microsoft, I got a promotional copy of Windows 7 Ultimate. Together with it I also got a Windows 7 keychain, t-shirt, and stickers.
I searched the internet for features, tips and tricks and found a lot.
On of those is about the Internet Explorer 8 which is included in Windows 7. As I was using this browser, I noticed that there is a dropdown with a list of websites that starts with the few letters. I searched this online and found an article that Internet Explorer 8 automatically completes address.
This feature actually makes browsing easier and faster. It “combines your browsing history with detailed suggestions from your favorite search providers” so you won’t have a problem.
The example above is when I typed in “mi” and Microsoft Store, Microsoft At Work, etc. comes up. I wanted to go to http://microsoft.com website and there it gives you relevant hits.
So when I get the desired website I need to go to, I will just press the down arrow until the site is highlighted, or alternatively click the site with the click of the mouse.
Sometimes there are sites that were created for earlier versions of Internet Explorer or other browsers, and those sites appear to be broken, spacing is odd, and sometimes pictures does not come up. You can click the Compatibility View as shown below. That will fix the problem.
This actually fixed my problem one time when I was playing chess, a flash game online which I guess was created for IE 6.

Ah you lucky ducky! I had to buy a new computer to get it
But I am really happy with Windows 7. So glad I didn’t get the Vista which apparently has had it’s problems. Well enjoy and glad to see you stop by on a regular basis. It’s fun to share our ups and downs.
Tootles!

IE is my least favorite browser but in fairness, it’s improved a lot since ages ago. I guess competition is the answer.
PS. Thanks for dropping by my blog and leaving comment(s).
