Celebrated Earth Hour Cebu 2011!
Watch the video here:
Hundreds of hundreds of bikers participated in the Night Ride Cebu for the Earth Hour 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM last March 26, 2011. Me and Kiba were among those about 800 plus participants. We made sure we would be part of this big event!
Check out these cool rides! Vintage!
We patrolled the streets of Cebu and encouraged establishments to turn off their lights through sounding our horns, bells, and sometimes shouting at them. Hahaha.
Gangsta biker!
Most of the IT Park buildings cooperated, i1, i2, i3, and skyrise 3 stalls and contact centers turned off their lights. We were even greeted by a live band performing at i1 and the crowd was cheering for us. Ayala Business Center was about 85% dark, thanks to those offices who were well aware about this concerted effort in conserving energy. As expected, Colon didn’t heed our calls to turn off their lights. The place was still bright and people’s faces were annoyed.
Different types of bikes participated. There were folding bikes, small bikes, vintage bikes that looked like thin motorcycles, mountain bikes, and trikes.
Until next year Earth Hour! But don’t forget, make it a habit of saving our Planet Earth! Go beyond Earth Hour!

Two thumbs up to every human being who participated in Night Ride Cebu and Earth Hour! I agree, let’s make it a habit in saving our planet!

It’s such a good thing that there are so many biking enthusiasts here in Cebu. Very friendly ang atmosphere nung gabing yun. Ang daming sumali sa Night Ride — proof that people do understand the need for addressing the problem of environmental pollution. Sana mas marami ang ma-ingganyo na magbisikleta para makabawas sa fossil fuel emissions. See you all next year.
BTW, I just want to share two more short videos of the March 26 Earth Day Night Ride in Cebu. The first one’s mine, and the second is c/o bulakbol76:
