Capturing Memories

Bantayan sunset

In one of our excursions in Bantayan, a friend of mine was able to capture this beautiful sight: the sun was setting, and a dark cloud partially covered it. After a while, it seems that there was a weak area in the cloud that a single ray of sunlight penetrated through. It looked like Son Goku‘s came-hame wave.

There are a lot of cool and picturesque scenes most especially if you travel. When I went to Mindanao, I saw that there were lots of those postcard-like sceneries: the cordilleras of Bukidnon, The Kadayawan Festival of Davao, the beautiful island of Samal, and on another trip, water rafting with friends in Cagayan de Oro. The volcanoes in Camiguin was a great view too, and if I had an underwater camera I could have taken pictures of those Nemo-like fishes swimming about our boat when we went island hopping.

I wish I had the necessary equipment to capture those unforgettable moments. Those times with your close friends where you frolicked about, those wanderings where you come to face nature’s splendor and beauty, and even those times of sorrow and reflection. I could start wishing for a DSLR or perhaps a film SLR. That way I can capture great pictures and make some cheap postcards and earn some money.

But that is a big dream, a very far-off dream. Anyway, there are lots of friend-photographers who have their own equipment and I will leave them that job. That way, all I am left to do is enjoy. lol.

i agree with your last line. sometimes, when we have a camera at hand, all you want to do is take lots and lots of pictures and the element of fun is set aside.
