He got approval from the University of the Philippines Visayas Vice-Chancellor and from the interview, he said he was “truly grateful and happy about it.” Together with the approval, he was given a study plan of first semester with 18 units, second with 21 units, and summer with 6 units.
“This will be tough, juggling both full time work and full time study,” he answered when he was asked whether or not he will quit his job.
“I will not let go of my job, I have a few more months left to be eligible for early retirement benefits from my company,” he elaborated.
He went through the process of re-admission and went through a lot of trouble. Each step required signature from different people who were as clueless as he was why they needed to sign.
We learned from him that he started the re-admission process way back late April, and only last June 1st did he finally get the result.
“At least they approved my application for re-admission unlike last time,” he defended. He went through the whole thing about three years ago and was disapproved by the same office who approved it now.
When he was asked why he still wants to pursue his studies in UP, he replied “Where else can you get quality education and easy scholarships?”
Upon being informed with the new system of income-tax bracketing and tuition fee rules, he quipped, “Well, I’m still with the old system and I’ll pay the old rate, that’s as per Office of Student Affairs.”
So in this last day of Registration, the author is hoping his best that he will beat the odds of not sleeping for the past 19 hours and a prospect of another 23 hours; bureaucratic red tape that ping-pongs him from one department to another; and a CSO clerk that would snap people’s heads off if they would make any stupid mistake like misspelling their name. He is hoping against hope that he would complete the entire registration process within this single day, his last chance to become a student again.

Hi.
I think education is something you need up until you learn that you were pretty good enough just by turning 22 yrs old.
Kidding aside, earning a college degree of education makes a man a cut above the rest. Good luck!
