My buddies at work invited me one day to join them in one of their biking adventure in the outskirts of Cebu City and beyond where perhaps a biker meets the countryside scenery; free from smoke and pollution from the city. The only problem is, I do not have a bike.

It just crossed my mind that several days ago, there was a bus that plunged into one of the deep ravines of Balamban where about 20 people where killed, and I think it was one of the places we would be passing through. I just shuddered at that thought.

Anyhow, Balamban, well actually I would say the whole of the trans-central highway of Cebu, is ideal for biking and even long boarding. It has well-maintained roads, and has ample road signs and markings that would forewarn you. I just can not get over the fact why the bus fell off the cliff.

There are quite a lot of sights and sounds you would encounter as you would ride uphill. It gets interesting as you go past Mountain View Resort, past the road to Tops, to Busai, and onto the chilly mountain ranges of Balamban.

I have saved up my online earnings for either of these two things: mountain bike, or a small refrigerator. Can you help me decide?
