My passion in life...
I love to skim, period.
My training days for getting onto the board are over, and I’m trying to ride WITH the wave, not riding ON the wave. It takes quite a lot of patience and timing to make the board go with the wave as it closes down — the part when the waves gives a strong push.
In Cebu, one of the place for skimboarding is Liloan. There are plenty of locals who skim, and you may catch them doing some tricks like this one.

Sometimes, this is where the National competition for skimboarding is held. Usually it’s during December, where waves are bigger and more conducive for doing tricks.
Another skim spot is Mahayahay beach in Argao, but it takes time to get there. With a bus, it takes more than an hour, but on a private car, should be not more than 40 minutes. I go there when it’s Habagat, as waves are big, as big as waves for surf riding.
