A meme in the Pinoy Travel Bloggers a few months back…
Lakbay Philippines has been online for a few years, (2 is already few!
) and was intended to be a money-making racket. All the author Lakbay could achieve was to pay about hundred dollars a year on hosting and domain name, and almost hundred dollars income a month. He’s hoping though that he could earn more than that as he’s currently unemployed, and no other means of income.
Lakbay decided against doing this meme, but he remembered he is a blogger, not a businessman. So here it is.
Most Beautiful Post: Free Diving
Inspired by the amazing pictures taken underwater off Pescador Island, the author posted what free diving is all about and how exhilirating it is.
Most Popular Post: Genesis Valley: Ideal for Team Building
That’s according to Google Analytics, garnering 472 page views which is 3.63% of the total page views.
Most Controversial Post: Looming PAL Strike
Being a Political Science student and a traveler, Lakbay can’t help but observe the PAL staff one time during a flight in the height of FASAP and PAL’s management tension. He then wrote an essay about it objectively with a Nationalist and Feminist lens.
Most Helpful Post: How to Get to Bantayan From Cebu
If the author were to judge, this is his most helpful post so far. He wrote in detail how to get to Bantayan from Cebu City enumerating the hours and money involved.
Post Whose Success Surprised Me: Basdaku Beach, Moalboal
Despite the lack of pictures and instructions, this post garnered 3.49% of the monthly page views. Its comments has reached about 150 most of them asking Lakbay for the contact information.
Post You Feel Didn’t Get the Attention it Deserved: Dakô, Guyam and Naked Islands in Siargao
Despite getting 17 comments, it’s ranked 29th in the page most viewed category getting 0.71% of the 13,010 monthly page view. Lakbay is saddened because if he remembers it right, this was his first attempt to SE optimize a post. Hehehe.
Post You’re Most Proud Of: Philippines’ SeCRET
Lakbay was so fortunate to do his practicum in an environmentalist non-government organization. There he met Atty. Tony Oposa and his daughter who’s also a blogger Anna. They are both front runners of environmental advocacy, particularly for our seas. The post though is about Road Revolution‘s alternative collective transport system: Self Containing Renewable Energy Train. RoadRev aims to give back to the people the roads by dividing it in this manner: 30% mass transport system, 30% bike lanes, 30% walk lanes, and 10% edible gardens.
Lakbay was tagged by the no less than Edcel Suyo of Solo Flighted, and he’s tagging these following peeps: Christina of Talk with Strangers, Kat of a photo diary of katmichelle, Glentot of wicked mouth, Mich of Chasing Philippines, Jie of Work.Play.Rest, Marj of Kristine Cuer, Abby of Abigail Abanilla, Corrine of Curious Corrine, and kikit of Kikit Avenue.
Happy blogging!
